My husband David and I live in Richmond, Virginia (USA) along with our 14 year-old "puppy dog" Beaver. Beaver is not camera shy and is more photogenic than us humans so he's "the face" of the blog.
I've always been a DIY'er, taking art, machine shop, and sewing courses, and dabbling in Industrial Design during my college career. Our house was nicely updated with all kinds of unique and resourceful projects and personal touches until the wee hours of the morning on July 10, 2010.
That's when we had a house fire.
David, Beaver and I were awakened by the smoke detector and safely escaped. Can you guess what started the fire?
I do occasionally share safety reminders on our blog, the most personal and significant to us being our Fire Safety PSA that you can read here. If you want to share our safety tip with others feel free to Pin, Pin, Pin :) the above image to make sure family, friends and neighbors have the benefit of this information.
But back to the DIY'ing! We I have lots of ideas for creating a fresh modern feeling for our 1980's suburban colonial home and hope you'll share this adventure with us. You might even want to try some of our ideas at your home and we'd love to hear all about that!
Have fun exploring our blog today and I hope you'll become a regular visitor. Of course we'd love for you to Follow our blog but if you're more comfortable popping in from time to time, that's great too.
And of course, what's blogging without comments ... I love comments {what blogger doesn't, huh?} and really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I really look forward to getting to know you.
In addition to comments I can always be reached via email at:
